specifically for

cationic polymers that provide deep conditioning to the hair.
The product simultaneously straightens the hair, provides deep
conditioning, and seals the hair cuticles with keratin. It
gives hair a straight natural look, that shines and moves
naturally. This product also features the ability to wash

Damaged Hair |

A third new
product was developed as a reconstructive treatment for damaged
hair. It does not contain formalin and is completely
chemical free. It is made with amino acids and essential
proteins which are important in the development of keratin.
It also has micro-particles of animal keratin which are totally
absorbed by the hair. This special combination completely
restores the hair's damaged cuticle. This new product
allows the hair to be washed 24 hours after the treatment.

(progressive blow dry), the treatment has slowly worked it way
to the United States, but has become widely available only in
the last six months.

How Brazilian Keratin Treatment Works |
| |
|
Technically
Brazilian Keratin Treatment is neither a relaxer or a
straightener, both of which use chemicals to change the texture
of the hair. The stylist applies a solution which is made
with active keratin, a protein akin to a component of the human
hair. Using a hot iron, the hairdresser seals the formula
onto the outer layer of the cuticle. The formula adheres
to the cuticle's inherently rough edges, trapping moisture,
hydrating the hair, and adding a glossy veneer.

The Results |
| |
|
The treatment
creates beautiful hair. It makes hair look straight,
shiny, sleek and healthy. It lasts approximately four
months, depending have frequently the hair is washed. One
satisfied client whose hair was brittle and dull from years of
highlighting, bleaching and chemical straightening; cried when
she saw the spectacular results of the process. A New York
hairdresser, who offers the treatment in his salon, says "for a
woman who has a thorn bush for hair and now it's like silk (from
the treatment) well we're talking revolution."

Questions and Answers |
| |
|
Question:
What is
Keratin?
|
|
Answer:
Keratin is a type of protein high in sulphur and the amino acid
cystine, making it tough, elastic and insoluble. These
qualities are fundamental to the strong structural role keratin
often plays in nature. It is a main protective substance
in our hair, skin and nails.
|
| |
|
Question:
What does
Keratin do to hair?
|
|
Answer:
Keratin is a tough substance. It's strong, protective
qualities improve the hair both inside and out. The unique
biopolymer ingredient is virtually a "liquid form of hair" that
gently blends with hair. It brings to hair what it has
been lacking to begin with, or what it has lost over the years.
|
| |
|
Question:
Can
Keratin be used on damaged hair?
|
| |
Answer:
The small Keratin molecules penetrate the hair cortex, improving
and repairing the quality of the hair from the inside. The
added strength, elasticity and moisture results in a smooth,
soft, shiny and straightened effect. The larger molecules
coat the cuticle and protect the hair from environmental damage
caused by the sun.

| |
|
Question:
What
do you do to ensure that unpleasant fumes from the process are
mitigated?
|
| |
|
Answer:
We use a "fume
extractor" with a carbon filter specifically designed to remove
any Keratin vapors that may be given off during the process
to ensure the safety of the clients and technicians.
